The Mars Rover is a automated motor vehicle that drives around on Mars looking for life, different kinds of rock, and even water on Mars. There's a mission that is about to be released called Mars Science Laboratory. The rover name is Curiosity Rover. The mission is to find any past or present conditions favorable for life, or capable for life. The mission will last 23 Earth's months. It maybe possible that Mars had lakes and water on it. A picture was taken of Mars and it showed there maybe a wet underground environment which says that Mars had life on it, or still does have life. Running this machine is very expensive of course. It costs $820 million dollars to build, launch, land, and operate on Mars.

The rover body is called the warm electronics box, or “ web” for short. It's just like a car - its outer layer protects the rover's vital organs. It is extremely strong and can withstand very much damage. The way the rover sees is with its three antennas on its back. It uses those antennas to hear and see. It sends radio waves through its antenna to communicate with earth. The Curiosity Rover is kind of like a human - through its antenna or “ears" the people from Earth can give Curiosity a mission and it understands and it does it.

Curiosity is taking a first ever measurement from a surface of another planet. Curiosity has been looking back into its tracks from later years and found a type a rock that has frozen water in it. This may mean that later in life we could have some form of living creature on Mars. Or maybe even humans on Mars.
